The conversation was sparked by discussing and sharing what our best beers of 2018 have been thus far and what the latest hype is in the craft beer industry. We also get a little "meaty" talking about how we spent our Father's Days (mostly relaxing and smoking meat) and what we tried that really stood out over the past week. Pour Bros. Taproom is a one-of-a-kind craft beer experience located in Peoria Heights, IL. We learn from Nate and Jason how this unique craft beer bar got started and where it's heading next. It was the first in the state of Illinois to bring craft beer enthusiasts a pour-your-own tap wall allowing drinkers to sample from their exceptionally diverse menu of drafts. Pour Bros. Taproom also attracts patrons by offering Saturday live music in their courtyard and have teamed up to offer a much anticipated locally sourced wood fired BBQ called Slow Hand Craft BBQ. We talk to John McGarry, Captain and Founder, of Brink Brewing Co. in Cinncinati, OH, on how the brewery got started and how their community focused vision made them one of the most interesting stories in craft beer. John, along with his founding team of Sarah (his wife), Kelly (his brother), Mark (brother-in-law), and Andrew (long time family friend) have not only brought home well deserved hardware for their fantastic beers but built a brewery centered on the neighborhood of College Hill which has embraced them with open arms. Ryan also shares a very special bottle in celebration of his trip to Nashville which included a stop at Bearded Iris Brewing. Mark fills us in on Idyll Hounds Brewing Co. and his trip to Florida and Evan discusses his trip to Austin, TX, and Jester King Brewery.
