We are joined with special guest Daniel, who shares with us his love of Chicago beers and we help him push his palate a bit with a big stout from J. Wakefield Brewing and a sour from DeGarde Brewing. Evan, Ryan, and Mark spend a fair amount of time tasting all that gracious listeners have sent us including beers from Henry and Fran Brewing Co. and Scofflaw Brewing amongst others. Then we dissect why vanilla is such a great adjunct for beers and why it is costly and challenging to brew with. We welcome Kyle to the podcast to talk a couple basic styles of beer. While we sip on some vintage 3 Floyds beers, we discuss a couple classic German stlyle beers you should check out and harken back to when IPAs were actually bitter. Our beers today come from Weihenstephaner, Ayinger, and Bear Republic Brewing Co. in addition to a great sour from Fonta Flora Brewing outta North Carolina. Our beers of the week come from The Veil Brewing Co., Saugatuck Brewing, and Side Project Brewing. This is an episode that certainly paid hommage to those beers that have paved the way!!

You like meat? Then this is the episode for you! Mark, Bryan, and Evan collaborate on a meal for the meat lovers. As we crack some great beers from Bearded Owl Brewing and Bearded Iris Brewing, we get down to how we constructed a BBQ and smoke centric dinner including smoked chicken wings, pork belly burnt ends, and smoked beef ribs (wow they are huge!). We share our personal tips on BBQ and smoking, what kind of sides we love the most (the pimento cheese dip is tops), and also discuss what brews we like to pair with our offerings. Enjoy our first huge dive into the provisions side of our obsessions, cheers!!

This one's for the wood workers!! We sit down with Steve and Caroline with Rocket Wood Studio in Pekin, IL, and learn about how they can turn a milled piece of specialty wood into beautiful and striking bars, table-tops, and custom pieces. They also tour us through their shop where old, vintage tools are hard at work next to some cutting edge technology. And don't forget we sip on some great beers while listening! Then we talk to Tom West of West Dublin Pub, a newly opened Irish style pub in the downtown district of Pekin where their passion is creating a space for the community to gather. Don't forget the incredible hand-crafted bar and tables built by Rocket Wood Studio! We truly enjoyed listening to their stories and sharing a beer!
